To prevent the potential spread of COVID-19, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is not presently offering in-person Breastfeeding Clinic Appointments.  If you are having concerns with breastfeeding, or have some questions you need answered, a Public Health Nurse with specialized breastfeeding training is available to provide support over the phone.

Clinic Services:

  • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and symptoms
  • Birth control prescription
  • Pregnancy testing and Therapeutic Abortion referrals
  • PAP testing
  • Referrals related to sexual health issues

Nurse Visits

This clinic is for walk-ins to see a sexual health clinic nurse. Walk-in hours start at 8:30 am and are taken until 3:30 pm or until capacity has been reached.

Clinic Services:

  • STI testing (no symptoms) & treatment
  • Birth control purchase (with prescription from Health Unit doctor or nurse practitioner)
  • Pregnancy testing and prenatal referrals
  • Emergency contraceptive pill
  • Anonymous HIV testing

Cancellation Policy

Full fees are refunded if this course is cancelled. Full fees less 10% are refunded if the Health Unit is notified (5) days before the course starts. There will be no other refunds. Registrants may send an alternate if unable to attend, but the Health Unit must be notified of the change.
